Landscape orientation - Inspired by the scenic hike, "Cottonwood Trail" along the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive in Empire, Michigan.
Walking this hike had been on my bucket list for a few years. It was beautiful, leading me through hills and valleys of sand, grasses, and native plants. The air was hot and close when I walked down between giant dunes of wind blown sand...then trudging up through sharp grasses I was refreshed with sweet breezes! Finally reaching the highest point, I looked out...the expansive view filled up my soul! The contrast of a lake that expands in a thousand shades of blue with the gold, amber, and green of rolling dunes and blow outs.
